We’ve learned new skills. We’ve uncovered grit, grown resiliency, and developed a healthier curiousity for opportunity. Yet, this traumatic, ‘new-normal’ year has handed us all a precious gift—regeneration.
As I reflect on my last 12 months, I can see that our affiliate has not only met the crazy head-on, but triumphed while staying true to our vision. Since entire industries have been affected by the pandemic, organizations that were competitive with—or estranged from—each other are now collaborating to pull through this time better than ever before. Because of our ingenuity and partnerships, I am even more excited and confident about our unique ability to provide strength and stability within Thomas County and beyond.
At our core, Habitat builds homes. We develop properties and contract local professionals. We offer real housing solutions to a variety of age groups, income levels, and families—exactly what the City and surrounding area needs to reach planned goals and to thrive in times of uncertainty. With eight homes built and eight families thriving, this has been a successful year by any standard.
From both a business and humanitarian perspective, I believe we need to celebrate our resourcefulness, our triumphs of the past year. And we need to be—now more than ever—steadfast.
