Habitat’s unique and sensible formula makes it possible for workforce individuals and families to own a home they can afford. With volunteer labor and local donations of money and some in-kind materials, Thomasville-Thomas County Habitat for Humanity builds and rehabilitates houses with the help of the homeowner families. Habitat houses are sold to partner families or individuals and financed with zero-interest loans.

it’s been a year of challenges...

home builds
Habitat for Humanity of Thomasville/Thomas County empowers individuals and families to build and buy their own homes with the help of people in our area. Homes are sold at no profit and no interest to workforce households who are in good community and financial standing. The program also prepares partner families to be successful homeowners.
shop ReStore
Each year, our collective efforts prevent hundreds of tons of materials from entering landfills—a real reason to feel good about repurposing.
Our ReStore is temporarily closed for in-person shopping but open for scheduled online pickups. This decision came about after we received an enormous, unsolicited donation in April. In order to manage this wonderful gift, we needed to retrofit our existing space at 205 N. Stevens St and develop a new system to handle the merchandise.
We now have a strong Facebook Marketplace presence along with a new online store. Soon we'll begin to accept your donations of gently used furniture, household goods, appliances, building materials, and working electronics. We'll continue our online sales and hope to reopen soon.

so…how does habitat for humanity work?
